Bantayan Islands Cebu

Last January right after celebrating 2011 was my planned Cebu trip with Avvy, Paula and her cousin, Ginette. We were there to breathe from work, kick start the year right and attend the Sinulog Festival. This trip was very special to me too since it's the first time i'm going away with my new vision after my Laser PRK surgery.

Day 1 was saved for the lovely Bantayan Islands! I've been wanting to visit this place for years so when Ginette suggested that we head over there, I immediately said YES! So after our plane landed in Mactan Airport, our van picked us up to take to this island. The ride took almost 2 hours but it was nice because we were able to see the view and we were only 4 plus the driver inside a huge, air conditioned and comfy van. The usual option here was to take a bus with other people but we opted to pay more for comfort and it was the right decision.

The van ride took us to the ferry that will bring us to Bantayan. This took a little over an hour and they did not have space for the Air conditioned one so we had to opt for economy. We thought it would be fine but it turned out to be so uncomfy and hot. It was so cramped and insanely hot that day. I was being bratty already and praying for a fast forward to happen. But then we arrived with this one greeting us!

We stayed in Beach Placid and it was almost deserted so it was beautiful. This is why we came here anyway. Imagine a beach as lovely as Boracay minus the crazy crowd and noise. Yes and we stayed inside this beach front cabin. I love love this because it was really in front of the beautiful beach with beach chairs in front. You can see the beach cealry when you stand in front of the cabin.

Island kids who were happy to pose for us! I <3 them! The beach was almost empty that we did not mind when they appeared and started  flying kites  in front of us.

Just a few steps from our house! Isn't it lovely?

Market

It was recommended by Lonely Planet but meh. Very very poor service and so-so food.

Yep that's the name

lol ponda and photobomb

We will definitely go back. The place looks like an artwork!
